Minutes
The minutes for the meeting of October 1, 1999 are as follows:
Introduction - Who, Organization, Why Here
Each member of the committee stated who they were, what organization they were with, and why they were in attendance.
Review Our Name, Mission and Scope
The committee agreed to the name of "Citizens Advisory Committee for School Facilities Planning and Funding." The nickname for the committee is "School Facilities Committee." The charge was agreed upon, but may change later.
Timeline - How Long?
The committee agreed that a preliminary report should be completed by March 1, 2000.
Organization and Frequency
The next two meetings will be Oct. 15, 2-5 p.m. at the Commons Building and Oct. 22, 1-5 p.m. at the Commons Building. The group talked about breaking into smaller groups. The frequency of meetings was not decided upon.
Next Steps
Each committee member will be sent a copy of "A Report on Capital Building Program Needs," which describes the needs of the Wake County Public School System.
It was suggested that Jim Merrill attend either the Oct. 15 or Oct. 22 meeting to explain operational budget.
Ray Massey will be invited to attend the Oct. 22 meeting to give a presentation.
Questionnaire
Bob Williams brought a questionnaire to the meeting to be filled out by each committee member. They should be sent to George Alwon.
