  • WCPSS Spotlight on Students Award Winner...

Since 1982, the WCPSS Board of Education has opened its regular monthly meeting (October - May) with a special ceremony honoring selected students for outstanding achievements and accomplishments. By the end of the school year, one student from each participating school will earn the accolade of Spotlight on Students. Each student is recognized and awarded a plaque and letter from the superintendent.

Alexandra Grove, Senior, was recognized as Cary High School’s Spotlight Student due to her ability to persevere despite personal tragedies. Through it all she has remained focused on her long and short term academic goals, been an active participate in orchestra, and worked 25-30 hours a week for several years. Her will to thrive has also made it possible for her to attend her dream school, Appalachian State University in the fall. She’s looking forward to studying History Education.
