Senior Night in the Gym Senior Night is the kick-off event for the "Graduation Events." It is the first of three occasions when seniors will wear their caps and gowns to participate in a formal event. It will be held in the CHS Gymnasium on Wednesday, May 20th, at 7pm. Leave home early because traffic is a problem! Seniors must bring a package of pre-packaged cookies to this event.
The evening begins in the main gym and ends with a cookies and punch reception in the adjacent courtyard for seniors and their families. In case of rain, the outdoor reception will move to the lobby of the auditorium.
One of the highlights of the evening is the presentation of gold honor tassels to all seniors who have earned at least a 3.75 cumulative weighted grade point average. These seniors will wear the gold tassel to all of the other upcoming senior events.
This is a very special occasion for the seniors, families, and community. No tickets are required. All Seniors are required to attend. You may not be able to attend graduation if you miss Senior Night without an authorized excuse.
Senior Awards Day
Cary High School Senior Awards Day is held on Friday, May 22nd, at 8:45am in the Gym. Juniors and Seniors attend, and are dismissed from their first period classes. Seniors are to wear their caps and gowns and proper graduation attire. The Senior Picnic will follow the Awards Day Assembly in the football stadium adjacent to the school. For complete details, see the Senior Booklet.
Parents are welcome to attend Senior Awards Day, but most parents do not attend this event unless specifically invited by the CHS Staff.
The Senior Picnic is held at the football field after the Senior Awards Ceremony on Friday, May 22nd. There is food and music for all Seniors. Usually, the yearbooks are distributed prior to or on the day of the picnic. It is wise for the seniors to bring a change of clothes to school that day, so that they don’t get their nice clothes dirty. Thank you to the PTSA and the Senior Activities Committee for this fun event!
All Seniors and their families are invited to attend the Cary High School Baccalaureate on Sunday, June 7th, at 5pm at Christ the King Lutheran Church followed by a cookies and punch reception. This inter-faith service celebrates the spiritual lives of students as they mark the end of their high school years. Students should wear their caps and gowns to this event.
