Elementary students stride in ‘Fastest Track and Field Meet’

It’s called the “World’s Fastest Track Meet,” according to Coach Chad Oliver, the event organizer. Oliver, a Hunter Elementary P.E. teacher says that’s because 90 elementary schools with 320 students compete in a host of track and field events in less than three hours.

Coach Oliver says, “It’s a great event for elementary students because it prepares them for what they may do in the future at other schools. It provides them real world experiences of what they can do later in life.” Continue Reading . . .

Wake County Track and Field Championship Meet set for April 13

The Wake County Track and Field Championship Meet will be held Saturday, April 13 at Athen’s Drive High School. Start time for field events is set for 9:30 a.m. with track events tentatively scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. This is one of the few times throughout the year that all Wake County high schools compete against each other in head to head athletic competition.
