BOE begins search to fill District 9 board seat

Board of Education member Debra Goldman stepped down from her seat in February. Goldman represented District 9, served as vice chairwoman of the Policy Committee, and was a member of the Student Achievement Committee.

Following policy, the board is currently seeking candidates to fill the open seat until the remainder of Goldman’s term, which expires November 2013. The position will be posted for 10 days, and board members will schedule public interviews with final candidates. See the ad here.

Those interested in applying for the board position must live in District 9 and submit the following information by the deadline of Friday, February 22:

  • A letter of interest that is no longer than five pages outlining candidate’s background and listing three strategies for advancing the Board’s Strategic Plan
  • A résumé
  • Three letters of recommendation
