Author encourages Leadership Academy students to write

Young adult author Ally Condie visited students at the Wake Young Women’s Leadership Academy to share her ideas on writing books. Condie challenged the students to use their creativity to write or make something, and asked them to think about favorite people, places and events to enhance the process. Her visit included a question and answer session and a book signing.

Students waited in line to get their books autographed and for the opportunity to speak personally to Condie. A seventh grader told her that she’s already finished writing the first two chapters of her book. The Raleigh stop was part of Condie’s national tour to promote her final book in the trilogy, which includes Matched, Crossed and Reached. Quail Ridge Books and Penguin Publishing Group worked with WYWLA School Librarian Debbie Dupree to bring Condie to the school.
