Holly Grove basketball teams collect Toys for Tots

WRAL recognizes Timber Drive Elementary teacher

The WRAL Teacher of the Week is Trey Robinson, a physical education teacher at Timber Drive Elementary School. WRAL features one teacher every week on its morning and noon newscasts, from the 50 or so counties they serve. A WRAL news reporter visits the teacher’s classroom, surprising her with a token of WRAL’s appreciation for a job well done, and sitting down with that teacher for 10 minutes to talk about the profession, and their experiences.

Registration opens for new Parent Academy workshops

Parents can sign up now for a series of Parent Academy workshops designed to help families get more engaged and support student success.

Choose from 15 workshops that begin January 15 and cover a wide range of topics. The first session focuses on the new Common Core approach to math in grades K-12.
