NC Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Recognizes 55 WCPSS Schools

The NC Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Initiative recently honored 55 Wake County schools for their success in creating positive school climates.

The state honors schools for successfully implementing PBIS at three levels: Exemplar, Green Ribbon and Model schools.

The state honored 18 WCPSS schools with the top honor of Exemplar School. The 18 WCPSS schools include: Swift Creek ES, Apex ES, Brier Creek ES, Cary ES, Centennial Campus MS, Farmington Woods ES, Heritage MS, Hodge Road ES, Kingswood ES, Lake Myra ES, Lockhart ES, Middle Creek ES, Mount Vernon ES, Northwoods ES, Smith ES, Sycamore Creek ES, Underwood ES and Vance ES.

The 18 schools will share their Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Initiative with other PBIS schools during a state workshop.

Twenty-seven schools earned honors as a Green Ribbon School including Briarcliff ES, Bugg ES, Carver ES, Dillard Drive MS, Douglas ES, East Cary MS, Fox Road ES, Fuller ES, Green ES, Herbert Akins Road ES, Heritage ES, Holly Grove ES, Holly Springs HS, Hunter ES, Lead Mine ES, Leesville Road ES, Millbrook ES, Mills Park ES, Oak Grove ES, River Oaks MS, Salem ES, Salem MS, Stough ES, Wakefield HS, Washington ES, Weatherstone ES and Wendell ES.

Ten schools earned honors as a Model School including Laurel Park ES, North Forest Pines Drive ES, North Ridge ES, Olds ES, Partnership ES, Reedy Creek ES, Reedy Creek MS, Root ES, Sanford Creek ES and Zebulon MS.
