Maintenance & Operations
The Maintenance and Operations Department, housed within the Auxiliary Services Division, is composed of Energy and Physical Plant, General Services, and Buildings and Grounds. Each division within maintenance has its own director. All three directors report to Senior Director of Maintenance Joe Desormeaux.

Energy and Physical Plant supports heating, air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, area lighting, kitchen equipment, wastewater, wells, and preventive maintenance of mechanical systems.

General Services handles intercoms, bells, smoke/fire alarms, glass repair, roofing, locks, carpentry, painting, masonry, flooring, and vehicle repair.

Building and Grounds covers custodial services, storm water, playgrounds, landscaping, grass mowing, turf maintenance, exterior signage, grounds equipment repair, building flood cleanup, custodial equipment repair, field supervisors, and solid waste removal.

Facilities and maintenance are closely connected. The work of one directly impacts the other. Initial design impacts the work of personnel for years to come. School maintenance and the amount of money alloted for preventive maintenance work affect the building lifecycle, such as when a school needs to be renovated or replaced.
