Facilities works closely with principals and central office staff to assess Wake County Public School System's capital improvement needs. These needs then receive priority rankings from all the major departments within the school system, based on the following factors:
-
health and safety
-
crowding relief
-
instructional improvements
-
growth management
-
site conditions
-
building conditions
A building program and schedule are developed from these
rankings and presented to the Wake County Board of Education
for approval. The Board then asks the Wake County Board of
Commissioners for appropriate funding.
