Impact if Approved by the Board of Education
Approximately 81 students from nodes 317.1, 317.4, and 572.0 will be reassigned from York to Hilburn. Approximately 120 students from node 059.0 will be reassigned from York to the new Laurel Park Elementary. Approximately 44 students from node 321.2 will be reassigned from Leesville Road Elementary into York and approximately 12 students from node 315.5 will be reassigned from Jeffreys Grove into York.

Reasons for Staff Recommendations
Capacity: The four mobile classrooms on this campus will probably be recommended for relocation during the coming year. The school is losing a signficant portion of it base area to the new base area being constructed for Hilburn Elementary. Hilburn currently sits within the York attendance area. Utilization of the York capacity requires expansion of the school's base area.
Crowding: Crowding was not a concern at this school in the development of these recommendations
Healthy Schools: Staff believes the percentage of students from low-income families, currently 50%, should be reduced to make the school more comparable to neighboring schools. The reassignment of node 059.0 will reduce the percentage to approximately 39%.
Long Range Planning: Future schools opening in 2009, 2010, and 2011 are not expected to significantly impact the attendance area of this school.
