Impact if Approved by the Board of Education
Approximately 84 students from nodes 049.0 and 139.0 will be reassigned to Turner Creek from Farmington Woods.

Reasons for Staff Recommendations
Capacity: An eight classroom modular has been recommended to increase the capacity at Turner Creek to serve future growth in the base area.
Crowding: Crowding was not a concern at this school in the development of these recommendations. In calculating growth, the projection software applies the same growth factor to the year-round application students as it does to the students in base nodes. Since these are application students in a node and not base students, the impact of either losing or gaining students may not be as large as indicated.
Healthy Schools: The percentage of students from low-income families is currently very low at 7%. Staff has recommended changes that should raise this percentage to approximately 16%. The recommended change makes room at Farmington Woods to receive students from Lynn Road Elementary.
Long Range Planning: Future schools opening in 2009, 2010, and 2011 are not expected to significantly impact the attendance area of this school.
