Impact if Approved by the Board of Education
Approximately 182 students will be reassigned to Oak Grove from Dillard Elementary from nodes 070.1, 070.3, 418.3, 418.4, 418.6, 424.5, and 641.0. Approximately 37 students will be reassigned to Oak Grove from Penny Road from nodes 417.3 and 424.7. A portion of the year-round application area for Oak Grove will be reassigned to Adams Elementary in order to better balance applications between the two year-round schools.

Reasons for Staff Recommendations
Capacity: The campus currently has five mobile classrooms and no additional units can be added.
Crowding: Crowding was not a concern at this school in the development of these recommendations because enrollment can be controlled through the application process.
Healthy Schools: The percentage of students from low-income families is currently very low at 9%. Staff is recommending changes that will raise this percentage to approximately 18%.
Long Range Planning: New schools opening in 2009, 2010, and 2011 should not have an impact on Oak Grove assignments..
