Impact if Approved by the Board of Education
Approximately 36 current year-round students will be reassigned to the new Laurel Park Elementary. Approximately 24 current year-round students will be reassigned to Carpenter Elementary as part of a shift of transportation/application areas.

Reasons for Staff Recommendations
Capacity: No change is planned for the five mobile units at Morrisville.
Crowding: Crowding was not a concern at this school in the development of these recommendations. In calculating growth, the projection software applies the same growth factor to the year-round application students as it does to the students in base nodes. Since these are application students in a node and not base students, the impact of either losing or gaining students may not be as large as indicated.
Healthy Schools: The percentage of students from low-income families is low at this school but is comparable to other schools in the western part of the county.
Long Range Planning: Future schools opening in 2009, 2010, and 2011 are not expected to significantly impact the attendance area of this school.
