Reasons for Staff Recommendations

Capacity:  Several of the mobile classrooms on the campus will be removed during the coming year.

Crowding:  Crowding was not a concern at this school in the development of these recommendations.

Healthy Schools:  Staff believes that the current percentage of students from low-income families is too low at 13% and needs to be raised to make Leesville more comparable to other schools in that area of the county. Changes suggested by staff will raise the percentage to approximately 27%.

Long Range Planning:  Reassignment of nodes from Brier Creek to Leesville will help prevent future overcrowding at Brier Creek. The transportation area for year-round applicants from the current Baileywick base area will be established for Leesville in order to increase the accessibility of the year-round program for that area of the county.
