Reasons for Staff Recommendations

Capacity:  No change is planned for the nine mobile units at Highcroft.

Crowding:  Crowding was not a concern at this school in the development of these recommendations. The Highcroft base area is expected to continue to grow but crowding should not reoccur for several years.

Healthy Schools:  The percentage of students from low-income families is currently very low at 5%. Staff has recommended changes that should raise this percentage to approximately 15%.

Long Range Planning:  After the opening of Mills Park Elementary next year, Highcroft will be left with a large base area containing land which is zoned for residential growth. Capacity should be adequate for at least four years.
