East Cary Middle student Alex Wang was one of the more than 750 middle school band students from 75 schools who auditioned for Central District All State Band. Wang made the symphonic band on Bb Clarinet. Wang will now travel to Eastern Guilford High School on Feb. 3, where he will practice for two days and then perform in the  Central District All State Band concert on the afternoon of Feb. 4.
The Central District All State Band auditions were held at East Cary Middle and coordinated by the school’s band director Mike Hopkins.
