Briarcliff Elementary Shows Support for the Arts

Briarcliff Elementary proved to be a bit like the Little Engine that could in the recent United Arts Campaign.

Briarcliff was number one in WCPSS in terms of raising support for the United Arts of Wake County. Faculty, students and parents enthusiastically got on board during the campaign. They shared stories over the school’s morning announcements about how the arts have made a lasting impact on their lives. Students watched as the Arts Meter inched up more and more – beyond the goal and ultimately topping 45 percent more than the previous year’s giving.

Ginny Zehr, the Vice President for Education and Community Programs for the United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County shared these words with the Briarcliff faculty and students. “Briarcliff’s stellar campaign results are a great example of how the arts bring people together, inspiring them to act, to sing, to dance and to give support to arts activities across the county.”

Thanks to Assistant Principal Barry Richburg for sharing this story with GotNews.
