Principals, assistant principals and school administrators met at the McKimmon Center at NC State University on Thursday to kick off the new school year.
Superintendent Tony Tata focused the educators’ attention on student achievement and testing data. Tata introduced Dr. Lindsay Page of Harvard University who reviewed the results of the student achievement audit of the school system. Then Tata presented 2010-11 testing data.
The educators were asked to discuss in small groups the implications of the audit and critical strategies to be implemented to address identified needs.
