Imagine a piece of literature unifying an entire school and providing inspiration for lessons among all disciplines.
One Book One School is a project that Powell Gifted and Talented Magnet Elementary School uses to create a common culture through the school-wide exploration of a single book. This year’s book, Henry’s Freedom Box is a heartfelt true story about a slave named Henry Brown and details his escape to freedom by mailing himself to Philadelphia.
You can take part at Powell joining students and faculty tonight, March 18 at 7 p.m. in the school’s multi-purpose room. Admission is free and the press and public are welcomed.
