Enloe Student Wins Prestigious Writing Award

Enloe Magnet High Junior Karina McCorkle, editor of the school’s award-winning literary magazine Stone Soup, earned a Gold Key, the highest level of achievement on the regional level in The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards of 2010. Out of the 165,000 works submitted to the contest, Karina’s was one of the 1,111 manuscripts to receive this prestigious award. Enloe High English teachers Priscilla Chappell and Joyce Nelson, who teach the magnet electives Short Story Writing and Writer’s Studio were recognized for coaching and supporting Karina.
