Principals plan a discussion on attendance

Principals and counselors from six south central Wake County area schools met to discuss ideas for an education summit to bring the community together to address student attendance.

The six schools are Athens Drive High, Dillard Drive Middle, Dillard Drive Elementary, Swift Creek Elementary, Yates Mill Elementary and Penny Road Elementary.

After the planning meeting, principals Bob Umstead, Lynn Williams, Sylvia Wilkins and William Crockett discussed the importance of attendance and the importance of discussing attendance issues with community, business and parent leaders.
