National PTA Leaders Encourage PTA Participation in Wake County

National PTA leaders took part in the Leading Out Loud event the Wake County PTA Council held Jan. 9 at the Wake County Commons Building.

National PTA President Chuck Saylors and National PTA Membership Chair Derek Byrd led a series of discussions on getting men involved and developing minority leadership in PTA. There were 19 speakers at three discussion sessions on three topics: male involvement, parent leadership and educators. Retired NC education leader Dudley Flood gave closing remarks.
