Dillard Drive Elementary will have an environmental education day at the school 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb 27. The staff and parents will be joined by Hope Community Church members, Standard Construction & Landscaping, and Home Depot of Cary to install several areas on the school grounds. The plans created by Laura Kiper of Kiper Landscape Designs will help to create a bird sanctuary, butterfly retreat and a fenced safety net for students. The objective is to align innovative activities to specific grade levels that will empower children to work individually and collectively as environmental stewards. Volunteers interested in joining in should contact Dillard Drive Elementary at 233-4200.
