Combs Teachers and Students Share 21st Century Learning for Leadership Day

More than 150 people from around the world visited teachers and students at Combs Magnet Elementary Nov. 19 and 20 for the school’s Leadership Day. The guests were drawn by the book, The Leader In Me published by Stephen Covey which describes the school’s use of his habits in its leadership magnet theme.

This Leadership Day focused on 21st Century skills and tools. The visitors got a sampling of the work students have tackled in project based learning problems with the help of business leaders. The visitors also spent time in the classroom with students who taught them ways to use technology in instruction.

Fifth grade teachers Shannon Page and Eugene Wheeler discussed their students work and the importance of the interest in Combs and the support the school receives.
