Students Develop Leadership Skills at World Congress

Two WCPSS high school students received scholarships from the Raleigh Jaycees to attend the Hugh O’Brian World Leadership Congress housed at George Washington University in Washington, DC.

Ashlyn Young of Athens Drive High and Neel Mandavilli of Southeast Raleigh High met leaders from various sectors in business, government, international affairs, science and technology, medicine, media, and education. The week is divided into educational sessions involving panel discussions with question-and-answer periods, interactive workshops, training exercises, focus groups, and individualized trainings.

Young and Mandaville returned to Wake County looking to put into action what they learned.
