The new Herbert Akins Road Elementary School held a ribbon cutting on its first day of school.
Principal Kathy Warren brought together community and school leaders to celebrate the opening of the new school.
Representatives of the school construction team attending the ribbon cutting included:
WCPSS Project Manager Chuck French; the Clancy and Theys team of Robert Hall, Senior Project Manager; Chris Setzer, Project Manager; Alan Brinson, Project Superintendent; Bennett Demery, Assistant Project Superintendent; Michele Holland, Site Office Technician; Brenda Cotterman, Estimator and Plan Reviewer; Small Kane Architects team of Neal Conley, Principal Architect and Shelly Johnson, Contract Administrator.
