The new Lake Myra Elementary opens July 7. Principal Jim Argent says the brand new school sits on the banks of Lake Myra.
Argent says his students have picked the otter as their mascot and his teachers plan to teach their children how to swim:

- Work responsibly,
- Impress with respect, and
- Meet high expectations
