Apex Middle School Counselor Julia Taylor has just published a book for educators titled Girls in Real-Life Situations that provides ideas for talks with girls to help them feel empowered, gain self-awareness, develop coping strategies, improve problem-solving skills, understand that they are not alone, and learn to make healthy decisions.
Based on her experience, Taylor has been leading discussions with Wake County educators on working with middle school girls.
