Teachers at Brassfield Elementary were meeting in their professional learning teams at 3 p.m., on the first early release Wednesday that's being established by Board of Education policy.
The new policy will set a day across the school system where children are released one hour early so that teachers can meet to discuss ways to meet the instructional needs of students.
At Brassfield Elementary, teachers have met in professional learning teams for three years. On this day, teachers met by grade level to discuss students, review student data and come up with ideas to improve instruction, mainly in reading.
