Superintendent Del Burns told the Wake County Board of Education May 19 that Combs Elementary teacher Rene Herrick has been named the 2009 Wake County Teacher of the Year and the Green Hope High School Band will be performing the world premiere of Neapolitan Holiday in their spring concert May 21.
