A team of Davis Drive Middle School students won the Wake County Battle of the Books competition and now will go to the state book quiz.
The Davis Drive team included Madhu Vadlamani, Caroline Reilly, Jessica Wan, Jared Tippens, Rushi Marthala, Ria Ray, Malvika Pillai, Anita Simha, Chelsey Lin, Jaya Krishna Pokuri, Hilary Sun and Christine Wei. The team's advisor was Bridget Hayes.
Hayes says her team read and studied the 30 books on the competition's list so they can answer difficult questions about characters, setting and plot.
