School Counselors in the Wake County Public School System marked the first week of February with a special conference marking National School Counselors Week.
Eric Sparks who leads WCPSS Counseling Services says counselors work to support students and their academic success.

A number of WCPSS schools have earned the American School Counselors Association RAMP Award. In 2008, it was presented to Millbrook ES, E Millbrook M, E Wake MS, Reedy Creek MS, Leesville HS (Re-RAMP), and Wakefield HS (Re-RAMP). The RAMP is a 3 year designation, so Leesville HS and Wakefield HS have completed the process twice.
There were four schools that will receive the RAMP award in June. The schools are Hodge Rd ES, Holly Grove ES, Wildwood Forest ES and Wakefield MS.
