Students and faculty at Martin Middle School are excited about the return of their hero, Chip Popoviciu, to the school this month. Martin teamed up with Popoviciu's employer Cisco to use technology that allowed the students to closely follow Popoviciu's climb to the top of Mt. Everest.
Popoviciu completed his climb of Mt. Everest last month and will make his way back to Martin for a face-to-face discussion with students later this month. Given his exploits since his March 10 visit to the school, students are planning on giving him a hero's welcome.
Students and teachers at the school say Popoviciu's climb brought an energizing focus to instruction at the school.
