A group of 29 educators, students and adult volunteers from Broughton High School are traveling to Antigua, Guatemala over the Thanksgiving break. They will be taking part in Spanish-language immersion classes in the morning and working in volunteer jobs in the afternoon.
Students involved in preparing for the trip and traveling to Guatemala talk about the trip and the school’s participation in the Memory Project. Dr. Winn Cherry, Broughton’s coordinator for the school’s International Baccalaureate program, describes the importance of the schools travel plans.
