Board Names New Principals

At its May 22 meeting, the Board of Education named one new middle school principal and two new elementary school principals.

Dhedra Cross was named principal at Heritage Middle School effective July 1, 2007. Cross has been assistant principal at Heritage Middle since the school opened in 2003. Prior to that, she served four years in WCPSS Human Resources rising to the level of director and six years as a teacher at Wake Forest-Rolesville Middle School.

Eloise Sheats was named principal at Lynn Road Elementary School effective May 23, 2007. Sheats has served as assistant principal at Poe Elementary since 2002. Prior to that, she served as an interim assistant principal at Swift Creek Elementary and was a teacher at Millbrook High School and Fuquay-Varina High School.

Michael Williams was named principal at Knightdale Elementary School effective June 1, 2007. Williams has been assistant principal at Knightdale Elementary since 2001. Prior to that, he was an assistant principal intern at Daniels Middle School and a teacher at Daniels Middle School and at a Durham, NC middle school.

The board named Kimberly Grant an assistant principal for Yates Mill Elementary School; John Toscano an assistant principal at Ligon Middle School; and Kimberly Mitchell an assistant principal at Middle Creek Elementary School.
