At its March 20 meeting, the Board of Education named two new high school principals, an interim elementary principal and an administrator.
As East Wake High continues to divide into four separate schools with the help of a new schools project grant, the board named principals for the two final schools opening in 2007-08. The board named Sebastian Shipp principal of East Wake School of Engineering Systems and Martha McCaskill principal of East Wake School of Arts, Education and Global Studies. The board named Judy Dudley interim principal at Lynn Road Elementary and Dr. Christy Falba senior director for elementary programs in the Instructional Services Division.
-Shipp has been an assistant principal at East Wake High since 2002. Prior to that, he was an assistant principal intern and teacher at Garner High. He was named a finalist for Wake County Assistant Principal of the Year in 2005.
-McCaskill has been an assistant principal at East Wake High since 2000. Prior to that, she was an assistant principal intern and high school teacher in Pitt County and a college instructor and coach at East Carolina University.
-Dudley has been an interim school administrator since 2004. Prior to that she served as principal of York and Conn elementary schools and a WCPSS Special Programs administrator.
-Dr. Falba has been a senior administrator for elementary math in the WCPSS Instructional Services Division since 2006. Prior to that, she was an administrator with the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nevada and was an adjunct professor in the College of Education at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.
The board named retired assistant principal Patricia Tolley as interim assistant principal at Carver Elementary; retired assistant principal Cynthia Griffin interim assistant principal at Vance Elementary; Diane Lockwood as assistant principal at Broughton High, Catherine McSween as assistant principal at Garner High, Ericka Lucas as assistant principal at Wake Forest-Rolesville High, Eric Fitts as assistant principal at Wendell Middle, Curtis Brower as assistant principal at Hunter Elementary, Arrica Moseley as assistant principal at Sanford Creek Elementary and Karen Bruce as part-time assistant principal and part-time teacher at Holly Ridge Middle School.
