At its March 6 meeting, the Board of Education named Sylvia Wilkins principal of Dillard Drive Elementary.
-Wilkins has been an elementary school principal in the Cumberland County Schools since 1998. Prior to that, she served as an assistant principal and teacher in the Cumberland County Schools for seven years.
Until Wilkins arrives on the job June 1, the board named retired principal Ann Deegan as interim principal at the school.
The board named retired principal Starr Braswell as interim assistant principal at Jones Dairy Elementary; retired principal Gary Gammill interim assistant principal at Baileywick Elementary; Tracy Purvis as assistant principal at Reedy Creek Elementary, Wendell Evans as assistant principal at Wakefield High and Syreeta Smith as assistant principal at North Forest Pines Drive Elementary.
