East Millbrook Middle School faculty and students will be flipping pancakes while students serve as waiters and display information on Guatemala in the school's Third Annual Pancake Breakfast. It's planned for 7:30 to 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 24 at the Crazy Fire Mongolian Grill on the corner of Spring Forest Road and Capital Boulevard in Raleigh. All proceeds from this breakfast will go towards the support of the new Santiago de Zamora School in Antigua, Guatemala and its efforts to better the lives of students in that area. A group of WCPSS teachers from International Baccalaureate schools plan to visit Antigua, a community Broughton High IB students have worked and studied in for several years. The WCPSS teachers plan to personally deliver donations to the new school as they visit Antigua to find lessons they can bring back to their classrooms. For more information on the pancake breakfast and the Zamora School, contact East Millbrook at 850-8755.
