The Wake County Public School System, the Town of Holly Springs and Wake County will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Holly Springs High School at 4 p.m., Sunday, August 20. After the ribbon cutting, the public will be able to tour the campus. The event will be held in the courtyard in front of the school.
Holly Springs High Principal Luther Johnson, Superintendent Del Burns, Wake County Board of Education Chair Patti Head, Wake County Commissioners Chair Tony Gurley, and Holly Springs Mayor Richard Sears will make remarks before the tour.
The new three-story high school was built for 1,663 students and is a partnership between the school system, the Town of Holly Springs and Wake County. Holly Springs High is built from a re-used (prototype) design, also seen at Green Hope, Wakefield and Middle Creek high schools.
Directions: From Raleigh, take I-440 West. Continue on US-1 South. Take the NC-55 exit 95 to Apex/Fuquay-Varina. Turn left at E. Williams Street. Continue on NC-55 Bypass South. Turn right at Avent Ferry Road. Turn left at Cass Holt Road and the school will be on your left.
