The North Carolina Sales Tax Holiday is Friday, August 4 though the close of business on Sunday, August 6.
During that time, purchases of clothing, footwear, and school supplies of $100 or less per item; sports and recreation equipment of $50 or less per item, computers of $3,500 or less per item; and computer supplies of $250 or less per item will be exempt from the state sales tax.
There are exceptions to the sales tax exemption, such as for furniture and items used in a trade or business. For full details on the Sales Tax Holiday, visit the NC Department of Revenue's Website.
