David Holdzkom, assistant superintendent for evaluation and research, notified principals last week that results from the 2005-06 End of Grade tests in mathematics won't be available before the end of the school year. The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction is rolling out a new series of tests this year and has notified us that we shouldn't expect to see the results before October 2006.
This has several implications, including that E&R will be releasing ABCs and Adequate Yearly Progress information after October, principals and faculty won't have the mathematics data available for promotion/retention decisions, and we won't be able to notify parents of the results until after DPI sends them to us.
More updates as we receive more information....
