Here's a quick look at some noteworthy items on the agendas for the Wake County Board of Education meetings on Tuesday, December 20.
The school board convenes as a Committee of the Whole at 2 p.m. to discuss the search for Superintendent Bill McNeal's successor with representatives from the North Carolina School Boards Association. This meeting will be in the Board Conference Room.
As usual, the regular meeting begins in the Board Room at 4 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. The school board will recognize this fall's three North Carolina High School Athletic Association champions: Leesville High (Girls' Golf, second year in a row), Apex High (Boys' Soccer), and Sanderson High (Cheerleading).
Finally, a public comment notice from the school board:
The 2006-07 Proposal for Student Assignment was posted to the district's website on Monday, December 12, 2005, for a two-week comment period. The Board will receive the proposed plan in February 2006. After that presentation is made, the Board of Education will set public hearing(s) to receive public comment on the proposed plan; therefore, student assignment comments will not be heard as part of the Board's regular business meeting public comment.
