Sixteen local veterans of the war in Vietnam will be honored for their outstanding service to the Wake County Public School System and our community at the beginning of tonight's 4:00 meeting of the Wake County Board of Education. These veterans have been instrumental in helping develop the Lessons of Vietnam/Recent International Relations courses taught in 14 Wake County high schools. You can find out more about this class, pioneered by Millbrook High teacher Lindy Poling, in this November 2000 story.
