Be among the first to know! At a reception and ceremony tonight, WCPSS's Principal and Assistant Principal of the Year will be announced. We'll be updating our front page at roughly 7:30 p.m. tonight with profiles of the winners.
The finalists are:
2005 Principal of the Year

- Tom Dixon of Apex High
- Jan Hargrove of Turner Creek Elementary
- James Overman of Creech Road Elementary
- Matt Wight of Salem Middle
2005 Assistant Principal of the Year
- H. Trent Evans of Reedy Creek Elementary
- Sebastian Shipp of East Wake High
- D. Susan Spivey of Cary Elementary
- Mary Swann of Forestville Elementary
- Ginger Wooten of Moore Square Middle
WCPSS principals and assistant principals voted on the finalists. Then a team of school officials reviewed the finalists, visiting their schools and poring over individual portfolios.
