Finding: 99-1

The Wake County Board of Education paid salaries and benefits for several of its employee project managers using monies from the Public School Building Bond Fund. These funds are restricted for capital outlay expenditures on approved projects only.

Status:

The Board reimbursed the Public School Building Bond Fund for the total questioned cost and moved all employees paid from these funds to local dollars before the end of fiscal year ended June 30, 1999. No further salary payments were or will be made from the Public School Building Bond Fund.

Corrective Action:

No further corrective action is needed.
