eMARC

Managing Assessment, Resources, and Curriculum (MARC) - electronically.

eMARC is a project based under C and I's Instructional Technology department. With the support of the Technology Services Division, C & I seeks to build an Instructional Management System which will integrate into the various components of the WCPSS data processing system.

The first phase of the project is designed around the assessment of the Standard Course of Study objectives. A desktop application that employs a web-browser as an interface will be used to record student achievement with respect to the standard course of study objectives. Simultaneously, a desktop observation application will be developed. The observation data will be used as the basis for assessing student achievement.

The second phase consists of development on the "pocket PC" that will interface with the desktop assessment and observation applications.

DIstrict-wide implementation will depend on the piloting success of the 2004-2005 school year.
