Application/System Architecture

Responsible for delivering sound and optimized application architecture on projects.
Provides technical leadership to the development team in resolving development and implementation issues.
Develops common design patterns and documents best practices that enable consistent architecture across the enterprise.
Documents all aspects of architecture including but not limited to data, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, security, etc.

Crisis Planning/Business Continuity & Recovery

Responsible for the development and implementation of a business continuity plan including off-site data storage.
Responsible for development and implementation of a disaster recovery plan allowing for retrieval of data stored off site and the ability under our current contract to recover Oracle financial applications, NCWISE and IDMS.

Operations

Processes support requests from Customer Support Services, Systems, Network and applications.
Monitors hardware/databases to ensure that unexpected service interruptions are kept to a minimum. The primary systems maintained and operated are Mainframe Z/800 (SIS), Sun 12k (NCWISE/UERS), RISC/6000 (Oracle/UERS) and AS400 (UERS/HRMS/BUDsystem).
Provides disk to tape backups of all applications on servers and mainframe ensuring system failure recovery and restores files from tape to disk as needed.
