Mrs. Anna Young

My name is Anna Young.   I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, a Master’s Degree Elementary Education (K-6), Academically Gifted Certification (K-12), and National Board Certification (Middle Childhood).

In Craven County, I spent twenty-nine years in the regular and gifted classrooms.  After retiring, I taught ESL and was a science facilitator for Craven County.

My husband Danny and I raised our two children in New Bern, North Carolina, where my twenty-nine years of teaching began and ended this year.  New Bern is home but our heart-strings were pulled to Raleigh because our daughter Andrea lives in Raleigh with her husband, son, and daughter.  As a media specialist at Sycamore Elementary, she needs our help caring for our precious grandbabies.  We love ever minute with them!

During my free-time, I enjoy yoga, cooking, dancing, and having fun with friends and family.  I am extremely excited to work with gifted children again.  The Joyner staff, students, and parents have made me feel at home!
