Mrs. Leslie Taylor
Ms. Taylor, a native North Carolinian, has been in education since her graduation from UNC-Chapel Hill. She taught in both elementary and middle school settings, serving in a variety of roles. Prior to joining the Wiley International Studies Magnet Elementary School staff in 2014, Ms. Taylor served as an administrator at Leesville Road Middle School and J.Y. Joyner IB Elementary Magnet School.
Ms. Taylor is thrilled to be a part of the Wiley family, and she is particularly intrigued by the limitless possibilities of expanding and enhancing the International Studies magnet theme. She loves walking through the historic hallways of the 100 year old building listening to the buzz of global learning.
While Ms. Taylor's family fostered her sense of curiosity and exploration at a young age, her fascination with different cultures and perspectives evolved when her family hosted exchange students from various parts of the world. Her travels have taken her to three continents, and she and her husband look forward to sharing the world with their son as he gets older. In her free time, Ms. Taylor enjoys spending time outside with her family, visiting with family & friends, playing tennis, and reading.
Ms. Taylor links her work at Wiley with 2030 United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development goal #4, Quality Education. According to the goal, by 2030, all girls and boys will "complete free, equitable and quality primary and secondary education leading to relevant and effective learning outcomes." Ms. Taylor's work towards this goal starts right here, right now ... at Wiley International Studies Magnet Elementary School.
